In this presentation Tim Hegg looks into the history of the Sacred Name (YHVH) as written in the Hebrew manuscripts of the Tanach, overviewing some of the claims made by proponents of the “Sacred Name Movement,” the scribal traditions surrounding the Sacred Name, and the pronunciation of the Name (including current claims by some that they have recovered the true pronunciation of YHVH). The presentation concludes with an overview of the theology of the Name and what is meant by the Scriptural admonition to “call upon the Name.”
